TVSN graciously invited us to attend their first ever “Live From LA” event! The Australia based TV shopping network broadcasted live right from the heart of Hollywood from a gorgeous rooftop on Sunset Blvd. We wanted to share with you the secrets behind TVSN’s incredible broadcast, how everything goes from rehearsal to LIVE FROM LA!
Two-month countdown: crunch time!
GENIE recruits models via in-person interviews, looking for natural everyday women. We hope our GENIE Beauties can relate to our models, both are beautiful inside and out! We do a test run to make sure we have chosen the right ladies.
One-month countdown: panicking!
An international teleconference for all buyers in regards to the show. There’s much more planning going on than you would think! Individually, GENIE planned what beauty kits to promote: “Splash into Hydration,” “Patty’s 30 Seconds to Glamour,” and a new product launch “Superglide Gel Eyeliner Duo with Sharpener.” Pssst all three kits are still available here. This was our first worldwide launch for the wonder-working gel eyeliner. Patty’s kit belongs to the ever-fabulous Patty Bunch, hit Hollywood makeup artist, three-time Emmy winner. Patty really is a beauty genius and if you haven’t seen her in action, check out some of Patty’s top secret beauty tutorials … you’re welcome!.
The night before: glitz, glitter, glam!
Party time! All brand ambassadors and the TVSN crew and hosts gathered for a fun meet and greet. I know it sounds weird but we (brand ambassadors and owners) don’t have many opportunities to meet each other! So it was wonderful for us to mingle with our brand-friends. Our favorite laughs came from hanging out with Nick Chavez, Carolyn Pollack and Alex Montoya.
TVSN’s Live From LA - lights, camera, action!
For starters, the time difference from LA to Australia is 17 hours!!! This meant for TVSN to air at 9:30 am on April 13th, we started filming here in Hollywood at 2:30 pm on April 12th. Needless to say, it was a long day! Luckily TVSN’s hosts Carla King-Turner and Geoff Cowan are ahhh-mazing and rocked 12 hours of filming full of energy and pizzazz for all our beauty queens. Also, big shout out to TVSN’s whole crew for creating an entire set and production room from scratch, all in 10 hours after our meet and greet!
Emmy-nominated makeup artist Patty Bunch, Patty’s daughter Farah Bunch (currently doing makeup for Netflix’s “Fuller House”) and I were on hand to launch our new kits. Everyone on the set got to experience GENIE’s instant skincare as we provided makeup artist and product for the day!

We really had a fabulous time with the TVSN crew and all featured guests. A big thank you to everyone who helped make the broadcast fantastic! And another gigantic thank you to EVERYONE who tuned in to watch! We hope our GENIE Beauties can see that a flawless broadcast takes hard work.
