My favorite way to re-charge after a tough week (it’s quick, easy & inexpensive!)
I don't know about you but I have Covid- Fatigue . . . . tired of being careful, tired of everything taking more time & energy than it should (grocery shopping? birthday parties?) and not getting great quality sleep . . . I find it's taking a toll on my body, mind and SKIN! So I have a tip that's helping me cope better, sleep better and be a better person in general! This is a really nice ritual I used to do when I returned home from an overseas trip and now I am doing it as often as I can! It helps me relax, go to sleep (and stay asleep easier) and practice a little self-care. It’s easy, inexpensive and only takes about 10-20 minutes (it just depends on how long you want to soak . . . ) I do a special Spa at home treatment -- dry brushing and Epsom salt/oil bath! The Epsom salts are high in magnesium and are absorbed right through your skin. Magnesium helps you relax and fall asleep. So here’s my routine/recipe: Run a really hot bath and add the following . . . .
Relaxation Recipe
1 cup of Epsom Salts (Epsom salt is really inexpensive and I just get a giant bag of plain salts at Costco—not the kind with oils in it or any fragrance in it already) Essential Oils: lavender (4-6 drops), bergamot (2-3 drops), ylang ylang (4-6 drops), geranium (2 drops) While the bath is running, I dry brush my body. This is really easy, feels good and gives your skin some much-needed circulation and exfoliation. I have a brush like this with natural bristles that are stiff yet soft at the same time. You brush your body towards your heart – so go from your ankle up to your hip all the way up your legs; from your belly up to your heart, your bottom up to the center of your back; then from your wrist to your armpit, (you get the idea). Then I hop in the bath and soak for about 10 -20 minutes (I have a tendency to be impatient so that’s usually about all I can do). Then I use Genie Exfoliate3 on my chest, elbows, knees and ankles/heels—rinse off and step out. After I towel-dry off, I slather and I do mean slather on my Dream Cream face, neck, chest, elbows, knees, and ankles/heels. Then I SLATHER on Cerave body cream—really go for it . . . it has no fragrance, absorbs quickly, and is inexpensive. I tap a little H’eye’drator eye cream on my eyes and top lip. Put on my favorite Jammies (Bedhead stretch cotton PJs are the most comfortable EVER!!! I love them) and I’m off to Dreamland! Give it a try, and let's celebrate our resilience! All my best,
